The first thing you want to look at is the software the bingo operator uses. Ideally, you want bingo games to load quickly, to look nice and to be as responsive as possible. The best bingo providers use tried and tested platforms for their games.
New players may find it difficult to differentiate between software at first, and this can be a problem. However, once a player starts playing frequently, he will recognize the software provider before the bingo site has even loaded.
Another trick a player can use is to compare one site with other so-called sister sites. Almost all bingo providers have sister sites that use the same software. The more sister sites there are, the higher the chances that the software is in-demand.
This means that lots of players find the bingo software appealing and that many bingo enthusiasts cannot be wrong. As people say, if you don’t know which restaurant to eat in, choose the one that has the longest line in front of it. The same goes for bingo sites.
Bingo Sites Bonuses & Promotions
Another very important factor when choosing a bingo operator is the operator’s commitment to rewarding its players. Bingo sites’ bonuses & promotions come in many shapes and forms, and the best providers will have them all.
The biggest mistake that new players make is choosing a bingo operator which only offers a few bonuses. They open the site, see that there are 3-4 promotions. At this point, new players think that’s probably enough and don’t go looking around for more.
However, going with a website which only has a handful of bingo promotions is not very smart. This is because bingo providers usually have lots of bonuses and not just as few as 3 or 4. In fact, it is quite possible to see 10-20 different promotions at online bingo establishments these days.
Let’s look at the most popular of these and see how bonuses can help you find a quality bingo site.
The welcome bonus offer is the first thing new players get when opening an account. These offers are usually the crown jewels of operators to attract new customer and are the most lucrative promotions the sites offer. Despite the fact that there are some exceptions, the best bingo sites mostly have the best promotions.
It is important to know that welcome bonus offers come in different packages. The most common ones are matched deposits, free spins, and free bingo tickets bonuses.
Matched Deposit Bonus
If you are an experienced gambler like me, matched deposit bonus is the most popular type of welcome bonus. With the matched deposit bingo bonus, players get welcome bonus offers similar to the ones below:
- Deposit €10 and get €10 bingo bonus (100% first deposit bonus up to €150, T&Cs apply);
- Deposit €10 and get €30 bingo bonus (300% first deposit bonus up to €300, T&Cs apply).
First deposit offers are very popular with players as they can double or initial triple deposits. This is evident from the bingo bonus offers above.
However, it is important to emphasize that most welcome bonuses come with wagering requirements. This is especially true for the deposit bonus.
What this means is that the player will have to meet the wagering requirement before being able to withdraw the bonus money. In case you wonder, wagering means playing the deposit/bonus funds several times over.
Free Spins Bonus
Another type of new client offer is the free spins promotion. With free spins bonuses, new players get a certain amount of spins free of charge.
Most bingo operators combine their bingo offers with a standard offer of slot games. In fact, this is true for 9 out of 10 online bingo sites. This enables them to award free spins to bingo players and use that opportunity to get players acquainted with their slots selection too.
Here is a free spins offer that you can possibly see on many online bingo sites:
- Deposit min €10 and get up to 100 free spins on Rainbow Riches, (T&Cs apply).
It is also common for operators to let players spin a Wheel of Fortune of sorts and award free spins based on those outcomes. There are different sections on the wheel, and most of them come with a certain number of free spins.
Free Bingo Tickets
In addition to free spins and deposit bonuses, bingo operators also offer free bingo tickets. Here’s an example free ticket offer which you can expect to see online:
- Deposit min €10 and get 10 free bingo tickets (maximum value of €10 if the player buys €1 tickets, T&Cs apply).
It is interesting to note that deposit and free spins offers are more common than free tickets. This is probably because matched deposits and free spins sound more enticing to new players. What is more, other promotions such as loyalty schemes come with free tickets anyway.
Combined Welcome Offers
Combining a deposit bonus with free spins or free bingo tickets is the sign of a quality bingo operator. It is easy to see why this is the case. Just compare the following two offers with the ones above:
- Deposit €10, play with €20 and get 50 free spins on Fluffy Favourites (T&Cs apply);
- Deposit & spend €10 and receive €50 bingo bonus and 50 free spins on selected slots (T&Cs apply).
It is obvious why a player would choose these welcome bonuses over any others. They open several free playing avenues, and that’s always good at the start of a new bingo adventure.
If you come across bingo sites with combined welcome offers such as the ones above, check them out. However, bear in mind that if the bingo bonus sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Enticing-looking bonuses usually come loaded with wagering conditions.
Loyalty schemes are very important when choosing a bingo site. Players quickly use up new players bonuses and need other promotions to look forward to. At this point, loyalty schemes fill this void perfectly.
Loyalty programs are usually a combination of various different types of bonuses. Because of this, they can offer loyal players not one, but several types of offers. These include:
- Daily Cashback,
- Free Spins,
- Birthday Bonus,
- Prizes and Rewards,
Bingo sites organize loyalty schemes in levels. Less flashy bingo sites simply call them Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 etc. More creative operators go with level names such as Bronze, Silver, Gold, Black, Platinum and so on.
However, as you can imagine, the name is only a name and nothing else. There are usually 1-5 loyalty levels, and bingo sites rarely go above 10.
The more a player spends and plays, the higher he will be on the loyalty ladder. And the higher on these rankings you are, the better the rewards will be.
For example, a Level 1 player might get a 1% Daily Cashback and 2 free tickets a day. In contrast, a Level 5 player would get something like 10% Daily Cashback and 5 free tickets.
When choosing your ideal online bingo site, Happy Hours promotions are quite important. This is because playing in the Happy Hour window can double your deposits and increase potential winnings. Bingo operators get quite inventive and generous with these actually.
Happy Hours promotions are usually available only in specific bingo rooms. What is more, they come with a minimum deposit and wagering conditions most of the time.
Also, don’t expect to see this promotion last for five hours on a Friday night. Bingo operators usually make Happy Hours offers no more than two hours long. In addition, they only activate them on slow days of the week, such as Mondays from 16:00 to 18:00.
Bingo games are an important factor to consider when choosing your ideal bingo operator. They are essential to any bingo experience. There is no point in having the best bonuses in the world and top-notch software if the games are below par.
Bingo enthusiasts should always aim high when sampling bingo games at different betting operators. If a bingo provider offers only a couple of 90-ball bingo rooms, you should look elsewhere.
These days lots of bingo operators offer more slots or casino games than bingo rooms, but still, put the word bingo in their names. Of course, there is nothing wrong with slots, roulette and blackjack. You know for a fact that I am all for a diverse gambling experience. However, putting bingo in your name and then offering everything except bingo games seems very unfair to me.
That’s why it is paramount that you browse through the list of bingo games before you choose a bingo site. In addition, it is also very important that you understand how each bingo game works. This will help you pick the bingo game you excel in and will increase your chances of winning.
There are two popular forms of bingo, 90-ball bingo and 75-ball bingo. These have been around for quite some time. In fact, people have played them for so long that they are now considered classic bingo games.
In addition to 90-ball and 75-ball bingo, there are also more modern variants of the game. These include 80-ball bingo and 30-ball bingo. Stay with me to find out how to play each variant of the famed game.
While you are here, try to figure out which bingo format is the best for you. This will help you narrow down your search for that ideal bingo site.
90-ball bingo is the most popular bingo version in Europe and especially in the UK. It is particularly popular in offline games, but online 90-ball bingo is also a huge hit with players.
There are 27 squares in a 90-ball bingo card. These are organized in 3 horizontal and 9 vertical lines. Each bingo card comes with 15 numbers in it. There are 5 in each horizontal line and 0 to 3 in each vertical column. The numbers in the vertical columns are organized as follows:
- 1-9 in the first one;
- 10-19 in the second one;
- 20-29 in the third one;
- 30-39 in the fourth one;
- and so on until 90.
90-ball bingo isn’t a very popular online bingo game because it offers only a few paying outcomes. There are only three winning scenarios in 90-ball bingo. These are one horizontal line, two horizontal lines, and a full house (all 15 numbers).
Waiting for a winning outcome can take some time in 90-ball bingo, and for many people, that’s a problem. Online-friendly bingo games are usually very fast and gratify players immediately. What is more, they come with tons of paying outcomes. Unfortunately, this is not the case with the oldest form of bingo.
75-ball Bingo is ideal for online games. It is lightning fast and produces immediate winning outcomes. What is more, bingo sites can customize winning patterns almost indefinitely. They can include all the standard ones, but can also include winning patterns which match their logo or preferences.
For example, a bingo site that has the letter X in its name can turn that into a winning pattern. The same is also possible with heart-shaped symbols, patterns in the form of stairs, zigzag lines and so on.
These winning combinations are viable because 75-ball bingo comes with a total of 25 numbers per card. There are 5 numbers across and 5 numbers down. Usually, on top of the card players can see the word B-I-N-G-O spelt out. Each of the letters in the word stands for a predetermined number range:
- B stands for numbers 1-15
- I -16-30
- N -31-45
- G – 45-60
- O- 61-75
This allows for many winning combinations to occur, and that works great for both bingo operators and players. In fact, there are probably more than 300 winning patterns used in this online bingo right now. These are, of course, in addition to the standard horizontal, vertical, and diagonal winning outcomes.
80-ball bingo is a new invention in bingo gaming. It is similar to 75-ball bingo, but it is also much faster. This is because instead of 25 numbers per card, there are only 16. These are in 4 by 4 pattern, which means that there are 4 numbers across and 4 numbers down.
Similarly to 75-ball bingo, the 80-ball variant comes with lots of winning patterns. The highest yielding one is the coverall. As the name implies, this is when all of the numbers on a card have been covered. In addition to this, players can also win with:
- an O-shaped frame -12 numbers on the outside perimeter;
- the letter X;
- the letter L;
In lots of bingo variants, players can choose to play with a 35-ball draw, 45-ball draw, 55-ball draw and other similar limits. The same goes for 80-ball bingo.
With this feature, players can increase their winnings substantially by opting to play with the lower number of balls. This is because the probability of having a coverall from 35 balls is lower than from 55 balls. However, lower probability means higher payouts, and that’s what most players are looking for.
In 30-ball bingo there are 9 numbers in total organized in 3 by 3 cards. It’s by far the fastest variant of all of the versions I’ve talked about.
However, even with a fast-paced bingo game such as this one, players can still choose a lower predetermined number of balls to play with. The lowest here is a 20-ball draw. That’s some lightning-fast bingo.
Security & Privacy at Real Money Bingo Sites
Security & privacy at real money bingo sites is the most important factor of them all. Games and bonuses are all nice and well, and a decent online bingo site should have as many as possible. However, if the bingo site is fraudulent or doesn’t guarantee the security of transactions, look elsewhere immediately.
In my ultimate guide to the best online gambling sites, I emphasize the importance of playing with a secure gambling provider. I will repeat the same thing here.
Going with a bingo site which comes with a 256-bit cypher key to encrypt and decrypt information is your best bet. This level of encryption is impossible to decipher, and only the best sites have it.
Another important factor to consider is privacy. Most bingo sites take all the necessary precautions to ensure that they protect your personal data. However, not all of them do this, and you should bear this in mind.
A secure bingo provider is a licensed bingo provider. A regulatory body such as the UK Gambling Commission, or the MGA, is very strict when giving out licenses. This means that bingo operators have to meet some pretty stringent requirements to obtain one.
Fortunately, this works in players’ favour as licensed bingo sites are safe playing options. What is more, in case of a dispute with the bingo provider, the player won’t be alone. A license from a gambling commission ensures that there’s someone to vouch for the player at all times.
Mobile Bingo Sites
Bingo enthusiasts rarely sit still these days. As a result, mobile bingo sites and mobile apps have become essential parts of the gambling industry. Bingo sites which don’t optimize bingo games for mobile devices are basically putting themselves out of business.
From the player’s point of view, the best way to play on the go is through a dedicated app. Accessing games on your commute to/from work is easiest if you use an Android or iOS app for bingo. Best sites will enable players to download these with a direct link. In fact, an easily accessible mobile app is a clear indicator of a top-quality bingo operator.
However, players shouldn’t avoid all bingo sites without an app. Some sites may be merely in the process of optimizing their games for a mobile device. If this is the case, they will probably produce an app pretty soon. What is more, up-and-coming operators might need a month or two to create an app and players should be aware of this.
In situations such as these, bingo providers will usually offer a mobile-friendly version of the site. This will only be a stop-gap measure until they release the app.
Bingo players who are not sure whether an app is up to standard shouldn’t rush into a decision. What they should do, however, is check out my detailed guide on gambling apps. Choosing the right app is essential to any bingo experience, and I am always here to help my fellow gamblers.
Bingo Bonuses and Wagering Requirements
You’ve probably come across a bingo bonus which seemed too good to be true. Well, chances are it probably was. Bingo bonuses and wagering requirements go almost always together, and you must be aware of this.
I have seen many people go for online bonuses such as “Deposit €10 on bingo games and get €50 in bonus funds (T&Cs apply)”. This looks like a very enticing offer. You deposit €10 on bingo games, and then you play with €60 as soon as you do that. But is that really the case? The chances are that this offer comes with a substantial wagering requirement. Let me explain.
The Wagering Requirements Trick
Let’s say you see the offer I just mentioned at a bingo operator. It asks you to deposit min €10 and promises you €50 in bonus money. You notice that next to the bonus there’s a phrase which says “T&Cs apply”, but you decide to ignore that.
That’s a big mistake on your part. You should always read the Terms and Conditions of a bonus offer. This is where all the details of the bonus are, both the catchy and the not-so-catchy ones. Bingo operators tend to only market the catchy ones, and wagering requirements are anything but that.
Going back to that offer and this time reading the Terms and Conditions you see that there’s a 5x wagering requirement. It says that you should play with the bonus money amount 5 times before you can withdraw your finds. It doesn’t sound all that appealing now, right?
What this means is that you will have to deposit and play with €250 (5*€50) before you can withdraw anything. Bonus funds will only become available after you play with that amount of the money for 5 times.
I am not saying that this offer isn’t fair; it actually is. After all, the bingo operator is giving you €50 in bonus money, for free. However, if you don’t read the small print and click on T&Cs apply, you will think that you will immediately get €50.
Are there best bingo sites to win on with no wagering?
After you have found out about wagering requirements, I think I know what your next question is. It’s probably along the lines of: Are there best bingo sites to win on with no wagering? Well, yes, there are. However, the bonus offers they give you will never be as catchy as “Deposit €10 and get €50 in bonus funds”.
Bonus offers which come without wagering requirements are more modest, to say the least. A similar bonus to the one above, but without a wagering requirement is a completely different proposition.
The player could use the bonus with wagering requirements in any bingo game. However, players with the wagering-free bonus would probably be allowed to play in one room only. This is likely to be the new players’ bingo room.
What is more, the wagering-free bonus will probably be non-withdrawable. This basically means that you can play with the bonus money, but can’t withdraw them. If you remember, the same was true for the bonus which came with a wagering requirement. The only thing which you can withdraw is the winnings on your balance after playing with the bonus funds. Once again, same as the wagering bonus.
As you can see, bonuses with no wagering in them are not as enticing as you would like them to be. Moreover, the bingo site can restrict the use of bonus funds to one room only. This is usually the room which pays the least and comes with only basic bingo features.
So yes, there are lots of no wagering bonus offers out there. However, after taking all things into consideration, they do look very similar to bonuses with wagering.
When choosing your ideal bingo site, you should look at several aspects of an online bingo establishment. These are all equally important, and the best bingo operators would have them all.
The first factor you should consider is the online bingo software. You want to choose one which comes without glitches and is bug-free. Ideally, your games should load quickly, and you should always enjoy the uninterrupted play.
Another thing that an online bingo site should have is a vast array of bonuses and promotions. These can be new player bonuses, loyalty schemes, and Happy Hours promos. Outplaying the house is tricky, but if you play with the right bingo bonus, you can come pretty close to that.
Unfortunately, bingo sites’ best promotions (best-sounding at least) always seem to come loaded with wagering conditions. Navigating these bingo bonus offers and finding the ones with the lowest wagering requirements is easier said than done. As a rule of thumb, always choose bonuses which come with a wagering requirement lower than 4x.
Playing the right bingo games can have a similar effect to using the right bonuses. 90-ball and 80-ball bingo games are worlds apart. The first one requires lots of patience. The second one is as fast-paced as a bingo game can be. This means you should only choose online bingo sites which offer the games that suit you.
A quality bingo provider will optimize these games for all platforms and devices. Players should only opt for bingo operators which offer a mobile version of their site and/or a mobile app.
Lastly, the security of your deposit and the protection of your privacy are also important. Always play with reputable bingo sites which have the latest security certificates to have safe and secure gaming experience.
